Spanish or Castellano, is the official language in Spain, in many countries of America (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Costa Rica, Dominic Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, El Salvador, Uruguay y Venezuela) and in Ecuatorean Guinea. In Puerto Rico island they speak it as well (where is official with english) and in other areas of the United States, in the Fillipines and between the jewish population of sephardic origin.

The number of people who speak spanish in the world is more than 500 millions. Spanish is the third language most spoken of the planet after mandarin and english, and the second most international language. Also, the number of students of spanish in the world is more every year.

In Spain people speak, not only spanish, they also speak other languages, like Catalan, valencian, gallego or basque, that are also officials in their territories.
